This retreat
will be held at the Mount Olivet Retreat Center, which is run by the
Congregation of the Lutheran Church, and is located 45 minutes south of
Minneapolis. The
retreat house is nestled among 150 secluded acres of rolling prairie
and woodlands, and offers modern, comfortable facilities including a
chapel, heated indoor swimming pool, whirlpool, and sauna. For

Format
This retreat is designed for newcomers to pysanky as well as advanced
pysanky artists – all are welcome! We will be working together in
a spacious meeting room, which will be available 24 hours a day.
Beginners will receive in-depth instruction in pysanky, and experienced
artists will have the opportunity to share information learn from each
other. A
variety of pysanky materials will be available for you to experiment
with
while you're at the retreat, and you are encouraged to bring your own
tools
and supplies. Transportation
The Minneapolis Airport is about 45 minutes
away from the Mount Olivet retreat center. Shuttle transportation
to and from the airport can be arranged at registration. The bus
to
UGS on Monday is included in the retreat fee. Accommodations

The Mount Olivet Retreat Center is modern, clean, and
comfortable. The motel-style rooms have two double beds each with
a private bathroom, and you may choose between single and
double-occupancy AS SPACE PERMITS. Single-room
accommodations are on a first-come, first-served basis.
Delicious, home-cooked meals will be taken in the dining room with an
expansive view of
the woods and
prairie. Most dietary restrictions can be accommodated; please
indicate your needs on the registration form.
Mt Olivet is handicap accessible.
Cost
There is a $100 deposit required to reserve a spot. Payment in
full is due January 1, 2005. The deposit will be deducted from
the retreat fee.
The commuter price is for the retreat and all meals, but no overnight
accommodations. The others include four nights at the retreat
house, dinner on Friday night, breakfast and lunch on Tuesday, and
three meals a day in between. The motel-style rooms each
have two double beds and a private bathroom.
Refund Policy
If you cancel by January 1, you will receive a full refund. After
January 1 refunds will not be guaranteed. However if you wish to
cancel, and there is a wait list for this event and someone can fill
your spot, then a full refund will be given.
General Policies
1.
Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. It is
advisable to register early.
2. A $100 deposit must be remitted at the time
of registration in order to reserve your spot.
3. This retreat can accommodate up to 30
people. Great efforts will be made to accommodate all people who
register, but not at the expense of the integrity or effectiveness of
the retreat. The stated maximum is based on facilitator
experience and space availability.
4. The MINIMUM number of participants needed to run
the retreat is 20 people. If fewer than 20 people have paid in
full by January 1, 2005 then the retreat will be canceled.
5. Children ages 12 and up are welcome to
attend. Children between the ages of 12 and 14 must attend
with a parent or another responsible adult.
6. You will receive notification of the status
of your submitted registration form within two weeks of receipt of your
deposit and form. This notice will either confirm your
participation,
or let you know your wait-list status. Maps to the Retreat House
will be included.
